What a U.S. Passport Photo Needs

The U.S. Department of State rejects photos that don’t meet its rules, so we check each one before we print it:

Babies and Children

We photograph babies and kids of all ages. For infants, we take several shots so at least one has the eyes open and the head straight. Bring the child’s birth certificate and both parents for the passport application itself; if one parent can’t attend, they need a notarized Form DS-3053, which our notary service can notarize for $10.

Photos for Other Countries

Every country sets its own photo size and rules. We take passport and visa photos for Mexico, India, China and Canada, 35 x 45 mm photos for Schengen and UK visas, and 2 x 2 inch photos for green cards and other USCIS applications. Tell us which country and document when you walk in.
